Occupational Therapy
“Play is the work of the child” - Maria Montessori
Occupational Therapy supports children in developing the foundational skills needed to meaningfully participate in the occupations of childhood. Guided by the understanding that “play is the work of the child,” these occupations include play-based learning, fine and gross motor development, feeding and mealtime routines, daily living skills, and sensory regulation, each integral to a child’s overall growth and well-being.
Using approaches as unique as each child, our team recognizes the sensory system as a foundation that supports regulation, engagement, and learning. By strengthening this foundation, we are able to intentionally scaffold higher-level skills and create meaningful learning opportunities across the home, center, classroom, and surrounding community.

Somewhere Over the Spectrum offers Occupational Therapy services to clients enrolled in our Early Childhood Program. Occupational Therapy is provided through individualized 1:1 sessions within our center, with therapists working collaboratively alongside each child’s team. Together, we develop and implement personalized sensory diets and therapeutic recommendations that extend across the clinic, home, and community environments to support regulation, engagement, and overall learning.
By embedding supports into familiar activities and natural environments, we promote consistency across settings and create a foundation that allows children to access learning, participation, and growth with greater ease and confidence. Through partnering closely with families, we support in prompting carryover and meaningful integration of their child’s programming at home.
