When I think about what Alyssa, Courtney, and Christina, and their team mean to me and my family, so many emotions come to mind it’s difficult to put them into words. From the moment they began working with my daughter Eden, I could feel the love and compassion the therapists and staff had not only for my child, but also for me! I was an exhausted single mother, pulled in so many different directions on a daily basis, now trying to maneuver through the difficulties of parenting a special needs child. After meeting with Alyssa and Courtney to discuss my specific concerns regarding Eden’s growth and development, I immediately felt validation that my concerns were legitimate and for the first time in a long time, I felt at ease that I was truly understood.
In the past years, Eden has grown so much. It makes my heart so full to see her excited to learn and to share with me things that didn’t always come very easy for her. Focus and concentration used to be more of a struggle for Eden, and these days when she gets home, she sits down unprompted and plays songs on the piano, solves math equations, and even researches topics on the internet. Their guidance has made me a better parent by giving me the tools I lacked to help my daughter learn and grow in a way that works specifically to meet her needs. I like to think of Eden and I as a “work in progress” as we continually use the tools we are given to improve the quality of our everyday struggles together, both at home, and out in our community.
