Alyssa has been dedicated to the field of Autism since 1998, bringing almost three decades of experience across diverse settings - including home-based, center-based and international program development. Her work has included direct client and family support, staff training, supervision and oversight of behavioral programming, alongside various leadership and management roles.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and began her career teaching in New York City public schools along with working in a specialized alternative school for children and families who wanted an individualized approach to learning. It was through these experiences, that she discovered her true calling, supporting Autistic children.

This passion became the lens through which she chose to focus her career, where she worked within Birth to Three services, overseeing behavioral programming throughout Manhattan. Her work later expanded internationally, traveling to a small island in the Indian Ocean to help implement programs, build community support, and raise awareness for the autistic community. She later pursued graduate coursework in Speech-Language Pathology to deepen her understanding of communication development and the unique needs of neurodivergent children.

Alyssa’s journey was forever changed by a life-altering illness, an experience that reshaped how she sees the world and her place within it. From that deep transformation, she emerged with a heart wide open and a spirit grounded in compassion, carrying a profound empathy that allows her to truly connect with the children and families she serves.

Building on these experiences, she translated her empathy and insights into leadership roles, including ABA Program Director and Clinical Director, where she oversaw program development and clinical care. Drawing on this combination of personal experience and professional expertise, she co-founded Somewhere Over the Spectrum alongside her partners, creating a program grounded in holistic, neurodivergent-affirming practices and a commitment to supporting the unique needs of each child and family.

Alyssa leads Somewhere Over the Spectrum with a unique blend of clinical expertise, financial and operational oversight, and a heart-centered, holistic approach to supporting children and their families.
